Viral Video Shows Dance Floor Collapsing Underneath Packed College Party

It is understood numerous people at the party attended nearby Clemson University.

Police arrived at the Woodlands Apartments complex, which was built in 2004 and is 5km from Clemson University, soon thereafter.

A shocking video captured the moment the floor gave way beneath a crowd of jumping partygoers at an apartment in South Carolina, US.

Video posted on social media shows a large part of the first floor falling as people danced, causing many of them to tumble to the floor below. People were under other people.

Jaylen Adams, who also attended the party, said the floor felt like a trampoline as people bounced to the music. People fell through the ground and landed on the floor below.

"Turning around and seeing a bunch of people who used to be on the second floor now on the basement was really surreal and people were crying".

Nobody suffered any life-threatening injuries in the mass fall, but 30 people were hospitalized with broken bones and lacerations, said Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon. "It was a lot to take in".

Property manager Tal Slann said he couldn't comment on whether there was a limit to the number of people allowed in the clubhouse at a time. "I can tell you there was a floor collapse", Slann told the Associated Press.

Thankfully, none of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.

Authorities said 30 people were rushed to nearby hospitals to be treated.
