Trump Open to Visiting Moscow After Putin Invite

Trump's mood, people inside the White House say, has grown dark as his longtime fixer Michael Cohen executes a very public breakup.

"We are ready to invite President Trump to Moscow, by all means. They want President Trump to deliver on his election promises, to make the relationship better with Russian Federation, but they also see that he's not going to be able to do that if he continues to perform like he performed in Helsinki when standing next to President Putin".

Mr Trump has been widely criticised for failing to strongly denounce Russia's election interference and appearing to accept Mr Putin's denials during their joint press conference in Helsinki.

That has helped to draw more attention to Trump's failure to visit troops, which political experts say would be an "easy win" for an administration plagued by scandal and poor performance. "He has this invitation already and I told him about it", according to CNN. "You would think he would want to back that up by supporting troops in their fields of combat personally but he has not done that".

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he's ready to go to Washington and meet with President Donald Trump, while also inviting Trump to Moscow.

Trump has come under fire, even from Republican lawmakers, for having extended an invitation to Putin after the controversial summit in Helsinki, Finland.

Interfax quoted Putin as saying he is ready to visit Washington "if the appropriate conditions are created there".

The last time Trump was in the Russian capital was in 2013, to attend a Miss Universe beauty pageant.

However, he noted the right conditions and circumstances need to be arranged before another meeting can happen.

The White House on Wednesday postponed that invitation until next year, when a federal investigation of Russian election interference could be finished.

Journalists listen to Russia's President Vladimir Putin during a news conference following the BRICS summit in Johannesburg, South Africa July 27, 2018. "Are we going to extend it or not?" The two leaders may not meet again one-on-one until next year.

Russian Federation is under punitive sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union and wants them lifted.

He said: "Yes, we have contacts on a working level, but sometimes that's not enough". "You can not discuss everything by phone".
