Manchester United consider making £65m bid for Harry Maguire

The Sunday Mirror says that United are "ready to trigger Anthony Martial's contract extension clause" in order to keep him at Old Trafford until 2020.

Manchester United are refusing to do business with a Premier League rival, even if they are prepared to go above and beyond the £70m price tag United have slapped on the France global. Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also interested in Martial.

Jose Mourinho is all too aware there is no value in keeping an unhappy player, but United will ensure Martial only leaves on their terms and will demand a minimum of £70m for him.

Manchester United will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season after the Red Devils finished in second place in the table and without a trophy last season.

Mourinho was keen to sign a left-back at the start of the summer but now appears likely to stick with Ashley Young and Luke Shaw.
