However, fellow recording artist Jidenna is speaking up to draw a line between XXX's abuse allegations and his attempts to turn his life around, and he's using Malcolm X to make his point. J. Cole called him an "enormous talent" with "limitless potential". He was facing more than a dozen felony charges, and prosecutors accused him of witness tampering.

The young rapper gained popularity through music uploads website SoundCloud, eventually scoring a number one album in March 2018.

He has had numerous arrests in South Florida, beginning when he was a juvenile and he is now awaiting trial for a domestic violence incident involving his pregnant girlfriend.

In an interview earlier this month with the Miami New Times, XXXTentacion described his upbringing, which included seeing his mother infrequently and being raised by friends, other family and babysitters.

'Or they found some sort of answers or resolve in my life regardless of the negative around my name, regardless of the bad things people say to me.

In May, Spotify removed XXXTentacion's music from its official playlists and recommendation features, citing a new policy targeted at "hate content and hateful conduct".

Videos taken at the scene and shared on social media showed the rapper's slumped body in the driver's seat of a black sports vehicle as a bystander attempted to take his pulse.
