Things We Saw Today: Wonder Woman is Headed to 1984

Things We Saw Today: Wonder Woman is Headed to 1984

DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has updated his social media accounts including his Twitter and Facebook pages with a new banner image that reads "WW84".

Gal Gadot confirmed past year that Brett Ratner won't be involved with the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel.

The logo is a static image that reads "WW84" and reminds of old VHS tapes and the TV "snow" that was commonplace on our screens before the invention of HD viewing.

Wonder Woman fans will have to wait until November 2019 before they see their favorite Amazonian superhero battle bad guys. Earlier this year at Cinemacon, Jenkins confirmed the movie will be set in the '80s. Check out the Wonder Woman clue below.

Director Patty Jenkins is returning behind the camera for Wonder Woman 2 and is co-writing the script with Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Godzilla) and Johns. The first film was mostly set during World War I in 1917.

Gal Gadot is reprising her role as Diana of Themyscira, and the new film will reportedly be set against the backdrop of the Cold War. Narcos star Pedro Pascal is also among the franchise newcomers. After earning $821 million worldwide, it became the highest-grossing film of all time from a female filmmaker who acted as the sole director.
