Colbert, Fallon, Conan team up for comic response to President Trump's insults

The Avengers-esque collaboration was captured in a joint cold open that will kick off both The Late Show and The Tonight Show this evening (an apparent late-night first).

One day after President Trump spoke about late-night TV hosts at a SC rally, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Conan O'Brien teamed up to discuss Trump's comments.

"I$3 heard he said some pretty bad stuff about us", Fallon told Colbert about Trump's SC rally.

"Well, that's not right", Colbert responded. Heard he said we're all no talent, low life, lost souls, ' Fallon said.

Later, Fallon says he did not see Trump's rally but heard he had insulted them, saying, "I heard he said we're all no-talent, lowlife lost souls". That's Conan." Enter O'Brien, who joined the call and jokingly acted surprise that Trump was president: "The real estate guy who sells steaks?" "Go Trump! We're with you all the way", said one, while another weighed in with, "Trump just keeps winning - get over it".

Colbert and Fallon agree to meet at the restaurant that denied service to Trump's press secretary.

"I mean honestly, are these people amusing?" he continued.

Asked if her the message on her jacket was meant as an endorsement of her husband's family separation policy for migrants, "Trump" responded, "You should not believe my clothing!" before opening her jacket to reveal the words "Believe My Clothing" on her shirt.

There's nothing unusual about late night hosts taking aim at President Trump during their shows.

Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert were both targeted (along with Jimmy Kimmel) by President Trump Monday night.

"Red Hen", Colbert confirmed with a decisive nod, ending the call. Turns out Carson was ahead of his time, Colbert quipped. Same with Colbert, who has laid into Trump with his own spicy comments. He then went on to refer to Stephen Colbert as "the guy on CBS" with "no talent".

Colbert immediately stood up to defend this unspecified CBS employee. Colbert asked, folding his ear in on itself and staring confidently into the camera.

It all started with Colbert at his desk, finishing the writing of his monologue when Fallon of "The Tonight Show" called him.
