First Look At 'American Gods' Season Two As Production Kicks Off

Production on the new season began last month, and now Starz has released a video from the set which also reveals when fans can expect to see the next season. Thus, it seems like the sophomore season will finally feature Wednesday (McShane) gathering his fellow Old Gods at the Biggest Carousel in the World to discuss his game plan, which is one of the most memorable sequences from Gaiman's novel.

Produced by FremantleMedia North America, American Gods is EP'd by Gaiman, Alexander, McShane, FMNA's Stefanie Berk, Craig Cegielski and Scott Hornbacher. Season two will also see the return of Mad Sweeney played by Pablo Schreiber (13 Hours), Tech Boy played by Bruce Langley and Kristin Chenoweth (Descendants) as Easter, in addition to some new unannounced characters. World, Cloris Leachman ("Malcom in The Middle", "Raising Hope") as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare ("Fargo", "Prison Break") as Czernobog, Mousa Kraish ("Superbad", "Fast & Furious") as The Jinn, Omid Abtahi ("Argo") as Salim, Chris Obi ("Snow White and the Huntsman", "The Counselor") as Anubis, and Demore Barnes ("Waco", "12 Monkeys") as Mr. Ibis.

Executive producer Neil Gaiman made public his desire to stick with the series regardless, but Gillian Anderson exited the show after Fuller and Green left, and Starz reportedly had trouble finding producers willing to fill the roles of Fuller and Green.
