4 reasons why the Sixers will beat the Celtics

The teams meet for the 20th time in what has always been the Celtics but also been the Syracuse Nationals/Philadelphia Warriors/Sixers.

In an ESPN preview of tonight's game, it's mentioned that 76ers head coach Brett Brown doesn't see the Boston Celtics as a pushover.

General manager Jon Horst said at the time that the team would conduct a search after the season and that Prunty would be a candidate. It's a staggering contrast, for sure. They have surrounded Joel Embiid's post game and Ben Simmons' slashing with shooters and guys who work hard off screens and plays off the ball to get open.

The Sixers and Celtics meet in game one of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, which tips off at 8 p.m. "He's been great all year. I've got to take my hat off to him".

Stevens said Brown still had soreness Sunday, a day after the Celtics eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks and a day before the second-round opener. That's still the case, Prunty said, although the team has not detailed when it will conduct interviews. Boston will need him even better vs Philadelphia. His "Scary Terry" persona and relentless energy feeds off the crowd.

The Celtics are hoping to have guard Jaylen Brown back from a hamstring injury he sustained in the first-round series against Milwaukee.

Terry Rozier will be tasked to keep up with Simmons every game while having to put up for numbers for himself as well.

"That was special. That was dope", Rozier said with a huge smile.

"You have two guys that want to win, two chippy guys, two short point guards".

Philadelphia is 5-1 ATS in its last six games. The Celtics were at the very end of their run as the Eastern Conference's best team coming into the playoffs that year as the fourth-best team in the East.

"Jaylen's a competitor, I know he was doing everything he could to be out there", Horford said. "And I think that's what's unique about our team". "The main important thing is just slowing my mind down".

Whereas the Sixers are finally healthy with a masked Embiid back in the lineup, the Celtics continue to impress with Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward on the sidelines with season-ending injuries.

Rookie Ben Simmons has been terrific in his first playoffs, averaging 18.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 9 assists and 2.4 steals (tied for most in the league) during the five-game opening-round victory over the Heat. "They're a bear to play against".

The 76ers have some of the best young talent in the National Basketball Association led by Embiid, who is a matchup nightmare for every team remaining in the postseason.

"I can't wait", Brown said to Sixers.com.

With 7:12 left in the final quarter, Rozier made a three-point dagger to pad the lead to fifteen, 92-77.

Boston might not have a dominant center like Embiid in the middle, but the team does have a solid rotation of big men that can be used to throw at him defensively, including Al Horford, Aron Baynes and Greg Monroe, who played sparingly in the first round.
