United Flight Rerouted After Putting Dog on Wrong Plane

Local leaders are leading a "dog-in" Sunday at LaGuardia Airport to demand justice following the death of a 10-year-old French bulldog on a United Airlines flight last week.

"We have learned that the customer did tell the flight attendant that there was a dog in the carrier".

The company flew into its third doggy drama in a week on Thursday after loading a dog on the wrong plane - again!

Kokito died on a United Airlines flight from Houston to New York Monday after a flight attendant allegedly insisted Catalina Robledo put their puppy in an overhead bin.

"I'm an animal lover and I know what traumatizes them, and I also know what kills them", Pattie Jirakll said at the protest. The airline mixed up two dog carriers in the cargo holds of two different flights. The airline accepted responsibility for the tragedy. It would ban placing pets in overhead bins and make sure they have access to food and water. "This visual tag will further help our flight attendants identify pets in-cabin".

Kennedy, citing the U.S. Department of Transportation, said in a letter to the president of United that of the 24 animals that died in major airlines' care past year, 18 of those animals were in the care of United.

"United Express flight 3996 from Newark to St. Louis diverted to Akron to drop off a pet that had been loaded onto this flight mistakenly".

United has had the highest rate of pet deaths of any USA airline for the past three years.
