President Trump and Alec Baldwin finally agree on something

President Donald Trump and actor Alec Baldwin have reignited their feud, as the commander in chief lashed out at the actor in an early morning tweet on Friday. Except the first attempt at an insult fell far, far flat of what he intended.

And now, Alec has defended his comments, saying it was a "natural instinct" to defend Woody, as well as also sticking up for his other showbiz pal and director James Toback, who also faced accusations of harassment.

Calling him "Alex Baldwin" would have been a pretty solid dismissal, but it doesn't seem like Trump did that on objective since the tweet has since been deleted (and since he also misspelled "dying" in it).

Twenty-five minutes later, at 6:08 a.m., the president tried again.

In the tweet, he wanted actor Darrell Hammond to be brought back because watching Baldwin is agony for Trump.

Baldwin predicted previous year that Special Counsel Robert Mueller would find enough evidence in his probe of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government to warrant impeachment proceedings against Trump, and that the president would be forced to resign before the end of his first term.

When asked how much longer he'll play Trump on "SNL", Baldwin said, "Every time I do it now, it's like agony".

There's nothing Donald Trump loves more than a good old rant on Twitter and today he's chosen Alec Baldwin as his public enemy number one.

Balwdin himself could not resist taking a swipe, and wrote back to the president: "Agony though it may be, I'd like to hang in there for the impeachment hearings, the resignation speech, the farewell helicopter ride to Mara-A-Lago".

Baldwin's Trump is a wildly popular character on SNL. "The skits are awful". ABC has announced that Baldwin is getting his own weekly political talk show. "There is no more equal time".

Trump had refrained from remarking on the show on Twitter for many months. Five days before his 2017 inauguration, Trump tweeted about the show: "Not amusing, cast is awful, always a complete hit job".
