Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Is The 2018 CoD Game, Apparently

The franchise took things back to basics in 2017 with "Call of Duty: WWII" to great sales success; perhaps Treyarch's return to "Black Ops" will be a throwback to the series' Cold War roots.

What's less clear is where the franchise will go next.

It is only a matter of time before the 2018 "Call of Duty" game is officially unveiled. Luckily, this is the same studio behind the other three Black Ops games, including the insanely popular Black Ops 2 and original Black Ops.

When can I play it?

In addition to the above, Sellars seems to have a pretty solid track record when it comes to predicting announcements regarding Nintendo stuff, which this Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 rumor has ties to the Nintendo Switch.

Word of another Black Ops stemmed from one self-proclaimed "industry insider", Marcus Sellars.

What Eurogamer can not confirm at this time is whether or not Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will make its way to the Nintendo Switch in addition to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. Subsequent installments pushed further ahead in time, with Black Ops 3 being set in 2065. Activision's Call of Duty reveals are on a clockwork schedule.

There hasn't been a Call of Duty game on a Nintendo console since Call of Duty: Ghosts hit the Wii U in 2013.

The Switch port is apparently being handled by "a company familiar with COD games", so it should be in good hands.

Are you excited about another instalment of Black Ops, or would you have liked to have seen something different from Treyarch this year? We still don't know when an announcement will arrive, but we might know what the announcement will be.

This Treyarch-developed entry will land on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but it's also coming to Nintendo Switch. More information will likely be coming within the next few months, so be sure to stay tuned for that.
