Instagram Teams Up With GIPHY For GIF Stickers

According to Instagram, "When you tap to add a sticker to a photo or video in stories, you'll now see a new GIF option". According to Instagram, this feature will be rolling out to users in the "coming weeks".

Although making GIFs isn't particularly a new thing - you can easily turn your live photos into GIFs through Google's Notion Stills app - but adding the feature to Gboard makes it much easier and fun to do. Tap that image, and you're taken to a new screen where you can browse what's trending or search for specific GIFs by keyword.

More is in the pipeline for Instagram Stories as the company is also working on another feature. Individually, you share photos, videos, and stories of your day with different kinds of filters and stickers.

While the feature was available on the app since September 2017, it was hidden in the pile of emojis on the board. The difference is that unlike a sticker, GIFs look more interactive. Then you've probably heard of Google's Gboard, the third-party keyboard that lets you both swipe to spell as well as search the web.

Google has been steadily rolling out slimline (Go) versions of its biggest apps for devices with low power and limited internet access.

Instagram adds GIFs to Stories. Although the feature has been rolled out today globally, it is not the first time that it was spotted. You can add as many stickers as you want, and move and resize them'.

Not only did Instagram introduce GIF stickers, but they also teased the soon-to-be-released ability to change the size of photos inside of Stories. Previously photos/videos would be cropped to fit the frame, but now users can pinch it to share it in its original dimensions.
