Chelsea held by second-tier Norwich

Chelsea held by second-tier Norwich

Chelsea's fixture list is set to get more congested after they drew 0-0 with Norwich City in the FA Cup, meaning they will need a replay.

Chelsea were held 0-0 by Norwich City for Saturday's third round FA Cup clash.

The Canaries sit 13th in the Championship table after winning just 3 of their last 13 games while they've been knocked out in the third round of the FA Cup for the last four seasons so they face a tough task today.

You always had the feeling Norwich had missed their opportunity when they dominated the first half without seriously troubling Willy Caballero.

It is a fourth unbeaten game in a row for Daniel Farke's Canaries, who impressed at in defence but were shot shy in the final third, Caballero rarely tested despite a string of free-kicks in risky positions.

While Antonio Conte did make a lot of changes, he still fielded a very strong side which included nine worldwide players and saw the return of David Luiz after his seven-week sabbatical after condemning his manager's tactics earlier in the season.

Steven Naismith has scored six goals in his last six matches against Chelsea in all competitions, including a hat-trick last time out in the Premier League in September 2015.

Chelsea struggled against the Canaries, for whom Alex Pritchard, Josh Murphy and James Maddison excelled going forwards. Hazard, Fabregas, Cahill, Courtois and Morata are all likely to move to the bench with Willian, Caballero, Batshuayi likely to start.

Chelsea did improve after half-time, with Willian injecting some much-needed pace and drive around the box.

All the visitors could muster was a poor David Luiz free-kick from 20 yards, an effort that sailed harmlessly wide and failed to test Gunn.

The result means yet another match for Chelsea in an already busy schedule.
