White House held traditional candle lighting ceremony for Hanukkah

Facing global isolation for recognising Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, the White House yesterday defended President Donald Trump's decision, asserting that it was a reflection of the ground realities and the United States was committed to the Middle East peace process.

In addition to slurring multiple words, Trump ended the speech with "God bless Israel".

There was clearly something off about the way in which Trump spoke at the event, and while I'm not going to speculate about what have been the cause for the president's slurred speech, his apparent difficulties did not go unnoticed.

Near the end of his policy remarks Wednesday on Israel, Trump, 71, began having difficulty with words that included the letter "s", voicing some of them as "sh".

"The President's throat was dry, nothing more than that", she told reporters. "Nothing more than that".

Trump entered The East Room to cheers and addressed the crowd saying he knew there were a lot of happy people in the room before declaring, "Jerusalem", according to pool reports.

Trump released a clean bill of health from his longtime personal physician previous year that was widely panned as laughable for lacking details and offering an over-the-top portrait of Trump's health.

The health concerns were so prevalent that the White House announced that Trump will be undergoing a physical exam at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, the beginning of the year. Trump, 71, is the oldest USA president at this point in his tenure.

Trump has had bouts of dry mouth before.
