FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Not as cold tonight; cloudy skies through the weekend

A cold front will swing through the area early this morning bringing breezy and cooler conditions for your Tuesday. Temperatures climb to the upper 50s in the afternoon.

It will be a cold morning with temperatures 15 degrees colder under a clear sky and with light south winds under 5 miles per hour. Highs in the afternoon will continue to rise, and by the afternoon, we will be back in the lower 70s. At this time, it appears a lack of instability will preclude any severe weather threat, but it's something we will watch over the next few days. We will only reach a high of 38 with a 10% chance of rain. Winds will be mostly calm through the day but shift to the south and pick up overnight. Highs will be in the low to mid-60s. Most of Southwest Louisiana will cool down to the mid 40s, while a couple places may reach the upper 30s. Rain returns Sunday. For now, it looks like mainly rain showers, but a few elevated thunderstorms could develop as well. There is little to no chance for rain, with mostly sunny skies.

It will cool us down, though.

Lows will drop into the mid to upper 20s under partly cloudy skies. Another cold front will move through Sunday, and this one will have more moisture associated with it.
