Martellus Bennett Reportedly May Try to Play Through Torn Rotator Cuff

Bennett signed with the Packers as an unrestricted free agent this past offseason, securing a three-year, $21 million contract that included a $6.3 million signing bonus.

The tight end, waived by the Packers on Wednesday for failing to disclose an injury, told his side of the story on Instagram. While the 30-year-old could try to play through the injury, the Patriots may decide to place him on injured reserve.

Coach Mike McCarthy leaned heavily on Bennett, who played on 83 percent of snaps. The team claims Bennett did not disclose a shoulder when he signed with the team this past spring.

If Bennett does get healthy, he proved last season he is capable of thriving in the Patriots' offense and he provides a potent threat in the red zone alongside New England's four-time Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski.

"Martellus with the Patriots, it just seems natural to me", Von Miller said.

Bennett was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots on Thursday. "You adjust the way you do things, the way you game plan and the way you move forward".

He was added to the injury report with a shoulder injury after the Packers' recent bye week. He was inactive for Monday night's loss to Detroit after being listed with a shoulder injury last week. And because he's considering retiring after the season, he may not suit up for another game in the NFL.

During the bye week I got off anti inflammatories to clean my system and could really feel the pain. Kendricks caught a career-high 50 passes for the Rams last season. He caught 24 passes for 233 yards this season but hadn't caught a touchdown pass.
