Vijay's Mersal leaked online on the day of release

Vishal released a statement denouncing H Raja's "support" of piracy and asks him whether he has any shame in admitting publicly of his support for piracy.

Vijay's Mersal has fallen prey piracy as several download links have surfaced on torrent sites.

However, in a shocking move, these doctors have chose to share the piracy links of the film on social media pages and they are asking each and every doctor to do the same.

The Congress top leadership waded into the controversy surrounding the Tamil Diwali hit film "Mersal" over some of its dialogues on GST, or Goods and Services Tax.

The availability of pirated CDs and DVDs of new films is also an issue.

But Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, both aspiring politicians, extended their support to Vijay and his crew. Vijay's latest movie "Mersal" opened to big numbers at the box office, but the whole concept of dealing with "corporate medical system" inside the film hasn't fared well with the white-coats.

Demanding an apology from Raja on the matter, Vishal also pressed the government to enact more stringent anti-piracy laws. Maximum number people are against demonetisation and the GST.

He had denounced "Joseph Vijay's hate campaign against Modi" in a tweet. Some doctors have defended this movie saying that this will surely make a dent in the collections and producers will understand the anger of doctors then.

"The film producer should remove the untruths regarding the GST from the film", Radhakrishnan had said.

The movie was written by M Karunanidhi, who later went on to become chief minister of Tamil Nadu. "This trend to encroach freedom of expression is alarming, and we have never seen it before", he said. Actor Jeeva Ravi pointed out that he had watched the movie and that there was nothing against the government.

Stating that movies, television and newspapers had every right to express views and criticise policies and decisions of authorities, he claimed that there was no political motive, whatsoever, in the movie's dialogues. The wrath towards a movie dialogue that criticizes GST shows how intolerant the BJP is.
