Tottenham's Harry Kane out of Man United clash with hamstring strain

Tottenham's Harry Kane out of Man United clash with hamstring strain

Mauricio Pochettino will now turn his attention to Spurs' crucial Champions League fixture with Real Madrid this Wednesday evening at Wembley Stadium. "We need to wait until tomorrow to decide the formation".

Striker Kane, 24, will miss Saturday's match at Old Trafford with a hamstring injury he picked up in Sunday's 4-1 home victory over Liverpool.

"It was our mistake", said the Spurs manager, clearly disappointed with the way his team failed to handle a straightforward long ball forward from United keeper David De Gea.

"I don't speak about injured players, so don't ask me about Harry Kane, because to speak about Kane I have to speak about (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic, (Paul) Pogba, (Marcos) Rojo, (Michael) Carrick so I don't speak".

"The injury is very small but we can not take a risk for tomorrow", he said.

Kane missed the match with a hamstring strain and without the Premier League top scorer, Pochettino's team fashioned just one clear chance, only for Dele Alli to miss from close range.

"You always want you best players available". Of course, you're always going to miss your main striker and Kane is one of the best strikers.

"Like always, we believe in the collective, in the squad". During the season, problems happen and you must trust all the players, all the squad.

As expected, Harry Kane has been left out of the Spurs starting XI as he is carrying a minor injury.

Pochettino also said it is only a small problem but he did not want to exacerbate the issue by playing him against United. There is no sense in taking that risk and making the problem bigger.

Mourinho then went on to discuss another player who has been missing from first-team action, despite returning to full fitness. I told the players are not machines and its so hard to cope with worldwide duty, play every three days.

"If not the next game, it's another one", said Guardiola, whose side have already beaten West Brom this season in the League Cup. "The doctor and medical staff made the decision to not take the risk".
