Fresh Kid Ice dead

Fresh Kid Ice, one of the founding members of the ultra-controversial and pioneering rap group 2 Live Crew, and one of the first internationally-known Asian rappers, has reportedly died in Miami.

They later hooked up with Luther Campbell and signed to his record label.

"People we lost a legend", Campbell tweeted.

Famously, 2 Live Crew were the first musical artist to have an album declared legally obscene when their 1989 album, As Nasty As They Wanna Be dropped to outrage.

Wong Won was 53 years old. He formed the legendary hip-hop crew with DJ Mr. Mixx and Amazing Vee in 1984.

Fresh Kid served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years before getting into music.

While Wong Won continued to record with 2 Live Crew, he released his debut solo album, The Chinaman, in 1992.

Fresh Kid Ice was the only 2 Live Crew member who appeared on all albums.

In an interview he gave the Miami New Times in 2014, Won said his group's music had value even if the authorities did not like it.

In 2015, Fresh Kid Ice released a memoir, My Rise 2 Fame: The Tell All Autobiography of a Hip Hop Legend.

He released Freaky Chinese in 2004, which notably featured several appearances from Flo Rida before he hit song charts. That comes as other 1980s Hip-Hop acts such as N.W.A. and Roxanne Shanté have become theatrical film subjects.

'A lot of people see us as being passive, but sometimes being passive means that you're learning. However, he retaught himself how to talk and walk before reuniting with Uncle Luke and Brother Marquis in 2012.
